FARRIERBELL COUTURE

Alex D. Holliman

Fashion designer Alex Holliman was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he started hand sewing at the age of nine. Holliman stumbled across his first sewing machine while thrift shopping with his Grandmother. At a young age, Holliman taught himself how to operate the sewing machine while using his mother's sheets and curtains as his fabric source.
As a self-taught fashion designer, Alex Holliman faced his fair share of challenges. Despite his innovative approach to garment-making, he failed his sewing curriculum in high school. This setback, however, did not deter his spirit. It only fueled his determination to succeed in the fashion industry.
After completing high school, Holliman began producing his first collection, which debuted in 2004. The journey was challenging, including finding a suitable brand name. His oldest brother came to the rescue, suggesting 'Farrierbell '. This unique name was a beautiful amalgamation of their great-grandmother Ruth Farrier Jackson's name and their Grandmother Tillie Bell Holliman's middle name. The positive feedback received after this debut marked a significant turning point in Holliman's career.
In 2007, Holliman relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to expand the Farrierbell brand by exposing his collections to a new market. Since the move, Farrierbell has been featured in major publications and television shows while receiving many prestigious awards for his accomplishments and contributions to the fashion industry. The Farrierbell brand is constantly growing, participating in fashion weeks across the globe; Holliman plans to have his collections sold in major high-end department stores worldwide.
